Praying Mantises

This is what we found on the apricot tree yesterday evening. There was much activity going on. Besides the obvious, it looked like the 2 females were fighting with each other.

Coachwhip Snakes

Here are our resident coachwhip snakes. They were engaging in this activity near the bamboo. We have only seen them one other time about 2 years ago in the shed, and interestingly, they were doing the exact same thing then.
